From six raw old rings to a stacking success for everyday wear. At Wilkinson Goldsmiths we hate to think of our customer’s jewellery is sitting gathering dust in a drawer.
As well as stocking fine jewellery handmade onsite and a range of excellent silver jewellery, another of our specialist skills is the remodelling of old jewellery to create something up to date or simply more wearable.

Our recent commissions have included melting down some rose gold pocket watch links to make a simple knot ring and melting down a variety of old jewellery to make a set of stacking rings (pictured above and below). On this occasion, we supplied some diamonds but we can use yours as necessary. The stacking rings work well with different carats and finishes so there are no dilemmas about combining different items and gold standards together.
While the motivation for this sort of work is often sentiment driven, it can be economic too. We recently remounted a customer’s engagement ring and wedding ring in platinum and used the old gold to make a new wedding ring for her husband. The cost of this was about half the price of a new band.
